How to Download Private Videos from Facebook.

Sometimes you see a video on Facebook you want to download it and you just don’t know how to. You try these websites such as

  • http://www.downfacebook.com
  • http://www.keepvid.com
  • http://www.keep-tube.com



None of them seem to work anymore. Facebook updates every time and changes everything. If the video is Private, you won’t be able to get it. I’m going to show you a little trick to get those videos without needing an Extension, Add-on or software. All you need is Google Chrome.

  • Open Google Chrome, Settings

  • Tools, Developer tools, Network.

Now you need to watch the video on Facebook that you want to download. click on Type to change the Alphabetical order. you need to look for the mp4 file.

For example:


Right click on  the mp4 file and “Open Link in New Tab” , it’s going to open a new tab, right click on the video and ” Save Videos As“. For example:

      Yes it does, you might be doing something wrong. Watch the video and if you do not see the mp4 file, refresh the page. Read the instructions carefully and look at the picture too.

            you need to read the instructions carefully. if you don’t see the mp4. refresh the page and try again. remember you need to play the video at least once or twice so you can see the mp4. refer to the 2nd picture on the instructions.

      yea that works too. Remember the tutorial was for “Facebook Private Videos”, but if you are trying to get videos from other websites such as “WorldStarHipHop.com” the file should be “flv”. you should follow what I did in the second picture, to preview the video. I tried getting a video from “WorldStartHipHop and when I right click on top of the “flv” file, it downloaded it automatically, but it works fine, i could play the video.Make sure you are getting the right “video/mp4 or video/x-flv” file from the “Type” tab, refer to the second picture.

      Refer to the second picture, it’s below “Profiles”. Check the first Red Arrow and move to the right side.

    I followed the instructions carefully.  The mp4 file popped up, no problem.  But when I try to click “Save video as…” it is gray-shaded – not available.  This is a private video that I am linked to and I am supposed to download it and put it on DVD for my group.  I am assuming that it doesn’t work for private videos?  What am I missing?

      You are almost tthere, make sure you play the video and right click on the video, no the black area around the video. It works for Private videos. Refresh your browser and try again.

    Thanks for this info. Unfortunately you have so many s**ty frigging affiliate ads and other tracking garbage on your page it’s pretty much unnavigable.
